SPMU Removal
Professional laser fading and removal of suitable eyebrow SPMU, cosmetic eyebrow tattooing and microblading. Consultation and patch testing are particularly important because cosmetic pigments can behave differently from conventional tattoo ink.
SUITABLE BROW TYPES
Microblading, powder brows, ombré brows, combination brows, machine brows and older cosmetic eyebrow tattoos may be assessed.
COLOUR CHANGES
Cosmetic brow pigments may contain several colour components. As darker pigment is reduced, underlying red, orange or yellow tones can become more visible.
PARADOXICAL DARKENING / 'OXIDATION'
Certain cosmetic pigments can unexpectedly darken after laser exposure, appearing grey, blue-grey, dark violet, brown-black or black. This is often called oxidation in the SPMU industry.
PATCH TEST
We assess how the pigment and skin respond before deciding whether to treat the full brows. A patch test may reveal fading, darkening, orange/red/yellow tones or other unexpected colour changes.
WHEN WE MAY STOP
If a resulting pigment colour cannot be safely/effectively targeted with the available laser wavelengths, we may advise that laser removal should not continue.
AFTERCARE
Keep the treated area clean, do not pick or scratch, avoid makeup directly over healing skin and avoid retinoids, acids, scrubs and strongly fragranced skincare. Avoid excessive heat, swimming and heavy sweating during initial healing. Protect from UV.
