LASER FUNGAL NAIL
Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm laser treatment for suitable fungal nail concerns. Treatment is non-surgical and does not require removal of the nail.
IMPORTANT
Not every thickened or discoloured nail is fungal. Trauma, psoriasis and other conditions can look similar. We may recommend assessment by a pharmacist, GP or podiatrist if suitability is uncertain.
TREATMENT COURSE
Our protocol generally recommends 3-6 treatments at approximately 2-3 weekly intervals. After the fourth treatment, intervals may be increased to around one month if required.
RESULTS
The damaged nail does not suddenly become clear. It must grow out naturally, which can take many months. Laser treatment cannot be guaranteed to clear every fungal nail.
BEFORE TREATMENT
Arrive with feet/hands clean and dry. Remove nail varnish, gels, acrylics and other nail coatings. Thick nails may benefit from safe reduction before treatment.
HOME CARE
Keep feet clean and dry, change socks daily, allow footwear to dry, rotate shoes where possible, manage athlete's foot appropriately and do not share towels, shoes, nail files or clippers.
